The University of Prince Edward Island is searching for a new President and Vice-Chancellor to lead our provincial university and strengthen the high-quality post-secondary educational experience for which UPEI is known.
A Presidential Search Committee, chaired by Shannon MacDonald, has been established and consists of a cross-section of members who will work with the University community to help find our next President and Vice-Chancellor. The Search Committee includes six Senate-selected and six Board of Governors-selected members (see below).
The search for a new president will include a number of opportunities for input from a wide range of representatives of the University community. Contributions from faculty, staff, students, alumni, and other stakeholders will be critical to ensuring the Presidential Search Committee has a clear vision of what we need to look for in the next President and Vice-Chancellor, to ensure their qualities align with the University’s values and mission. Learn more about the presidential search process.
We will communicate frequently with the University community to keep them informed on our progress and ways to provide input. Please refer to this web page often for the latest information and additional content. If you have questions about the Presidential Search, please email presidentialsearch@upei.ca.
The Presidential Search Committee is committed to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion, and we take our role very seriously. We acknowledge that the task ahead is challenging but one that we have been entrusted to conduct in an open, transparent, and rigorous manner.
