Message from the President – Preliminary Enrolment Update

Dear members of the University community,

I extend a big thank you to members of our UPEI community who dedicated time to welcome our students back to campus this past week. In particular, Welcome Day on August 30, and the UPEI Student Union’s Welcome Back Wednesday on September 3, demonstrated tremendous pride in our University and the sense of community that defines us in so many ways.

Please remember that we still have time to show our support for O-Week and UPEI student efforts during this year’s Shine Day tomorrow, Saturday, September 6. During Shine Day, UPEI students will raise money through Shinerama in aid of cystic fibrosis treatment and research.

As indicated in last week’s message, I am providing campus members with UPEI’s early enrolment numbers to ensure our community is well informed. The following numbers are as of Friday, September 5, 2014 as compared to Friday, September 6, 2013 and provide a preliminary indication of our student enrolment for the coming year. A further enrolment update will be provided to campus by mid-October reflecting UPEI’s 2014 enrolment as per AAU reporting (which takes place in early October of each year).

I wish everyone a great start to our academic year and look forward to working together to achieve our shared priorities in support of student success.

Best wishes,

Alaa
