Current Staff

A retired Navy Veteran and former Paramedic, George is excited at embarking on the journey towards a career in Elementary Education.  While attending UPEI, MAPUS has been a home away from home and George is proud to represent the Mature and Part-time Students at UPEI.  He resides near Kensington with his wife Michelle and their two labs, Harley and Dante.

President

Bryan is a mature student at UPEI and pursuing a career in social work. Before enrolling at UPEI Bryan had a career in industrial mechanics. MAPUS has become an important part of his university journey. The center has enabled him to meet new friends who are sharing a similar academic journey. He resides in Victoria West Prince Edward Island with his wife Melissa
 

Vice President

Joshua is a mature student working on his first degree. He has decided to major in Sociology with hopes of working in mental health in the future. He has had many jobs in the past, the most recent being in the fishing industry and, after a plant closure, decided it was time to return to further his education. Joshua is also involved with the FSL program at UPEI and plans to write for the Cadre in the near future. Joshua believes that MAPUS is a great way for students to transition back to school if it has been a while and finds the MAPUS lounge a great, relaxing atmosphere. Joshua is married, both he and his wife Karla are expecting their first child March 2012.

Treasurer

Margaret Doyle is currently  the Senate Representative for MAPUS and attends all Senate meetings, as well as MAPUS meetings as part of her duties.  Margaret resides in Charlottetown with her cat.

Ann Matheson is the Executive’s administrative assistant. She has provided administrative services to the MAPUS executive and members since 2001. Beyond her administrative responsibilities, Ann goes above and beyond by providing a listening ear, useful advice, and assistance about campus matters as needed.
