Admission to the Master of Arts in Island Studies program is based on:

• successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an honours or major program
• an application form (available from the UPEI Registrar’s Office or as a pdf online)
• a statement of research interests
• sample of written research work from prior university or professional experience
• 2 letters of recommendation from professor or professional experience
• resume

Once your application is received and processed by the Registrar’s Office, it will be considered by the MAIS Steering Committee. Give yourself plenty of lead time — particularly international students who will need visas— it is best to apply by March 1.

If you apply by March 1st, you will be automatically considered for a UPEI Entrance Scholarship!
