Self Serve Password Changes

In most cases, if your network password expires you can reset/change it yourself without having to call the Help Desk.

Before you start, keep the following in mind. If you login to more than one campus network, all of your passwords will be changed to your PIN number.

EXAMPLE: If you are working in a Faculty department AND an Administrative department, both your "ACAD" and "ADMN" will be changed to your PIN number.

EXAMPLE: If you are a Student who has worked for the University, both your "STU" and "ACAD" passwords will be changed to your PIN number.

Reset your password

First, head to the UPEI Home Page. In the upper right corner is a link entitled "Campus Login". Click the link.

You should find yourself on a page that asks you to enter your UPEI ID number and your PIN number. If you are Faculty or Staff, you can obtain your PIN number by calling the Human Resources Office. Students can obtain their PIN number through the Registrar's Office.

Enter your UPEI ID number and your PIN number and click the "Login" button.

Now you are on the "Main Page" which presents a menu of various selections, including "Network Username and Password".

Select "Network Username and Password" and then click the "Go" button at the bottom of the menu.

This is the "Network Username" page. Please read the warnings presented here, then go ahead and click the big button at the bottom labeled "Set Network Password to PIN".

The resulting page will show you if the procedure was successful....

...or not successful.

If there was a problem, now is the time to call the Help Desk.

A final note. The next time you login to the affected Novell accounts, you'll be notified that your password has expired and that you should choose a new one. Go ahead and do this. Although you can use your PIN number as your password, it's not a practise we recommend.
