UPEI's International Development Office
The International Development Office at UPEI was established in September 2008 to help internationalize our campus community. Its mandate is to
- provide leadership on international protocol and special event programming;
- help to internationalize the learning environment;
- support internationalization through service and outreach while enhancing the profile of our campus community;
- foster and sustain university-wide connections with international stakeholders from Canadian and foreign governments, internationally engaged community organizations, and post-secondary and research institutions from other regions.
The specific functions of the International Development Office through the International Liaison Officer is to
- provide a connection between the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) and UPEI;
- initiate and review international agreements, partnerships, and processes;
- house international files — that is, to be the institutional reference point;
- co-ordinate international protocol and programming.
