UPEI's International Development Office

The International Development Office at UPEI was established in September 2008 to help internationalize our campus community. Its mandate is to

  • provide leadership on international protocol and special event programming;
  • help to internationalize the learning environment;
  • support internationalization through service and outreach while enhancing the profile of our campus community;
  • foster and sustain university-wide connections with international stakeholders from Canadian and foreign governments, internationally engaged community organizations, and post-secondary and research institutions from other regions.

The specific functions of the International Development Office through the International Liaison Officer is to

  • provide a connection between the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) and UPEI;
  • initiate and review international agreements, partnerships, and processes;
  • house international files — that is, to be the institutional reference point;
  • co-ordinate international protocol and programming.
