SUBNODE 2: MAPPING THE SUPPORTS FOR THE SOCIAL ECONOMY ON PEI

Graduate student Barbara Wynne , working under the direction of Dr Novaczxek (IIS) and Janice Pettit (PEI Executive Council), undertook a study of social service organizations on PEI to explore how they are supported by, and how they cope with changes to, federal and provincial funding programmes. The results were workshopped in November 2007, and the final report "Bridging Publlic Investment and Social Value: An examination of the supports for the Social Economy on PEI," released in April 2008.

 

A Participatory Evaluation of Hillsborough Promoters’ Crime Prevention Project March 2005 – December 2007, was conducted by Dr. Irene Novaczek.

This booklet is based on the Master’s thesis research of Laura Lee Howard(UPEI 2008), “Let them in but Keep them Out: Liminality and Islandness of the First Born Chinese Islanders” and published with assistance of the Social Economy and Sustainability Research Network based at the Institute of Island Studies, UPEI

 

The Birth of Change.

This research report was prepared by Women’s Network of PEI, in collaboration with the Institute of Island Studies at University of PEI, with support from the Social Economy and Sustainability Research Network. The Social Economy and Sustainability Research Network is comprised of researchers from community organizations, universities and government agencies across Atlantic Canada. This Research Network is based at Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU), under the direction of Dr. Leslie Brown, and is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
