The Faculty of Nursing, University of Prince Edward Island has a sessional teaching opportunity in NURS 1020 FOUNDATIONS OF NURSING II, in Winter 2018 academic year.  This position is subject to budgetary approval.

NURS 1020 FOUNDATIONS OF NURSING II
Students are introduced to the theoretical concept of caring for clients within a primary health care context. Using primary health care as a framework, nursing concepts are explored and strategies for nursing care considered. Students begin to develop a conceptual framework to guide their nursing practice while working with clients in long term care settings.

Lecture: 3 hours per week – Wednesday and Friday – 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Master’s Degree in Nursing and RN designation with the Association of Registered Nurses of PEI (ARNPEI) is required.  Strong expertise in Medical/Surgical nursing required.  Previous experience in teaching is an asset.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster, and to those with experience in teaching university level courses.
