The School of Nursing, University of Prince Edward Island has a sessional teaching opportunity in N305 Health Teaching, in Winter 2017 academic year.  This position is subject to budgetary approval.

NURS 305 Health Teaching
In this course, students are introduced to theories and principles of teaching and learning within a primary health care context. The course focuses on the nurse’s role as health educator and change agent in promoting healthier lifestyles and enhancing wellness through the use of an empowering approach. Students have an opportunity to apply theory and to develop teaching skills through participation in a variety of community-based teaching activities throughout the semester.

Lecture: 3 hours per week

Applicants must have a Master’s Degree in Nursing and RN designation with the Association of Registered Nurses of PEI (ARNPEI) is required.  Strong expertise in health promotion and wellness, primary health care and translating theory to health education required.  Previous experience in teaching is an asset.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster, and to those with experience in teaching university level courses.
