The International Relations Office and Webster Centre are seeking applications for the position of Student Assistant. Reporting to the Administrative Assistant of these departments, this position will focus on assisting in all areas of the International Relations Office and the Webster Centre. RESPONSIBILITIES: The student will be responsible for: • Helping to maintain and build the International Relations Office and Webster Centre websites (training will be provided) • Helping to coordinate incoming international visits • Assisting with research on current and future projects • Assisting in the creation of marketing material • Assisting in maintaining filing systems and databases • Coordinating small meetings and events • Taking meeting minutes • Answering phones and responding to correspondence • Sending information packages, etc. by courier • Performing other duties as required QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will ideally be in second year and will be familiar with working in a post-secondary educational environment. This position requires strong computer, organizational, and administrative skills with a keen eye for detail as well as excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal abilities. S/he will also be able to work in both a team environment and independently. The successful candidate must be friendly, responsible, and comfortable conducting campus tours and leading delegations from location to location during visits. Priority to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
