Dr. Pedro Quijon (Biology Department) is seeking to hire a part-time undergraduate student assistant to help with a research project on Irish moss from Basin Head PEI.


The student will assist with the handling of Irish moss clumps and with the identification of marine invertebrates.  The student needs to be comfortable with flexible field and laboratory work (as required), sometimes at odd hours. Experience gathered from previous volunteer work on the topic will be a strong asset. 


• Students who have experience handling Basin Head Irish moss are strongly preferred
• Students who completed Field coastal ecology (Bio-327) are strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work in the field (Basin Head) and the laboratory at odd hours

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
