The University of Prince Edward Island Security Services Division is seeking to hire 2 full time Security Attendants.


• Staffing the Security Services office dispatch desk.
• Assisting in the protection of persons and property in student residences.
• Counter and phone reception.
• Response to emergency requirements.
• Response to maintenance requirements.
• Responding to a variety of alarm systems.
• Dealing with general building security.
• Fire prevention.
• Assisting with the investigation of complaints.
• Preparing shift reports.
• Completing building rounds.


• Have completed courses in Law and Security, Corrections or possess an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Excellent writing, speaking and computer skills.
• Be physically able to perform the essential duties of the position.
• Knowledge of the UPEI campus would be an asset.
• Participates in continuing education activities to ensure own professional development.
• Ability to think creatively.
• Not have been found guilty or convicted of an offence under the Criminal Code of Canada, the Narcotics Control Act, or the Food and Drugs Act, or if convicted, shall have received a pardon.
