The Faculty of Education at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a sessional instructor to teach the following course in the Winter Session 2018.

ED-4620-99  International Education (1 section)

This course introduces students to the economic, political, and cultural factors that influence public education in foreign countries. The public school systems of selected foreign countries are examined and compared to the provincial systems in Canada. Students are expected to carry out independent research on a foreign country of their choosing.

This is a three-semester hour course offered on campus to students in the BEd program on Fridays from 11:30am to 2:20pm and on Mondays from 2:30pm to 5:20pm. The course runs from January 3 to February 9.

Qualifications:
Successful candidates will normally have school-based experience in a Canadian public K-12 system.  For applicants without school-based experience, teaching in other contexts relevant and appropriate to the position will be considered.

In addition, candidates applying to teach graduate courses will normally have established expertise, and successful leadership and/or teaching experience in a context related to the foci of the cohort.

In all instances, qualified applicants on the UPEI Sessional Roster of the Faculty of Education will be given priority. 

THE OFFERING OF THESE COURSES IS CONDITIONAL PENDING FINAL ENROLMENT NUMBERS.   ALL SESSIONAL COURSES ARE SUBJECT TO THE FINAL BUDGETARY AND ADMINISTRATIVE APPROVAL.  THE AVAILABIILTY OF THESE SESSIONAL POSITIONS IS CONDITIONAL ON THE FINALIZATION OF REGULAR FACULTY MEMBER WORKLOAD DISTRIBUTION.
