The Department of Student Affairs at UPEI is looking for an Accessibility Support Facilitator.  This candidate will be working directly with Accessibility Services in coordinating and facilitating the department’s secondary exam invigilation requirements.  This person will report to the Coordinator of Accessibility Services and will be an essential part of the Student Affairs team. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Scheduling exams for students registered with Accessibility Services
• Ensuring access to exam materials in a timely manner
• Invigilating UPEI and AVC internal exams
• Providing all accommodations needed for any exam invigilated though Accessibility Services. For example: scribing services, text to speech software, increased time to write exam and low lighting, to name a few
• Ensuring academic integrity of all exams
• Coordinating all external exam invigilation.  External exams include GRE, LSAT, Dental Assisting and exams from multiple institutions 
• Coordinating note taking and tutoring for all UPEI students registered with Accessibility services
• Communication with UPEI Accounting Department for invoicing and ensuring payment of external exams
• Academic support of students with accessibility needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1 year of experience working with university students with accessibility needs
• An understanding of appropriate teaching pedagogies, accommodations and inclusive practices are essential
• Experience using Kurzweil, Dragon Dictate, the Live Scribe Smart Pen, Access Deck, Macintosh and PC computer systems are essential 
• The successful candidate will exhibit dependability and honesty and have excellent organizational and time management skills
• Supervisory experience as well as knowledge of the administration and coordination of exams is essential
