The Department of Health Management is seeking a sessional instructor to assist in delivery of VHM 4230 Large Animal Health Management to fourth-year veterinary students. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

VHM 4230 LARGE ANIMAL HEALTH MANAGEMENT

This is a clinical rotation involving the Farm Service, Theriogenologym and Equine Ambulatory sections of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Students will explore contemporary issues relating to food animal and equine veterinary practice. There is a focus on development of problem solving skills as they relate to herd health management, reproductive management, and equine preventative medicine.

This team-taught course uses case-based material and real cases to emphasize clinical learning objectives. Large Animal Health Management is taught during both the fall and winter semesters. The need is for the last part of the Fall semester (.5 full-time) and the first part of the winter semester (.5 full-time).

Qualifications:
Responsibilities for this position include preparation and delivery of clinically based material during a clinical rotation for all fourth year students.  Applicants must hold a DVM degree.

Preference will be given to those with teaching experience in Equine Ambulatory Medicine, but those with evidence of effective teaching in related fields will also be considered. Priority will be given to members of the UPEI Sessional Roster for the Department of Health Management.

Remuneration will be as specified in the Faculty Association Collective Agreement.
