Sessional Instructor - Asian Studies - Faculty of Arts (Winter 2018)
The Asian Studies Programme at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for a Sessional Lecturer for the winter (second) semester 2017-18. We are seeking a qualified language instructor to teach the following credit course in Asian Studies. This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.
A ST 1010 – Introduction to Mandarin Chinese I
This course is intended for students with no proficiency in Mandarin at all. It provides an introduction to the Mandarin Chinese language, through the study of basic pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar. It includes numerous oral drills, frequent written exercises, short oral presentations, and simple readings. Cross-listed with Modern Languages 1010.

Qualifications:
Successful applicants should have relevant university degrees and experience in teaching Mandarin Chinese as a foreign or second language at an academic college level.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster in the academic unit.
