Student Tutorial Assistant - Department of Physics - Faculty of Science *AMENDED CLOSING DATE*
Undergraduate Student: $12.25 per hour (plus 4% vacation pay) Graduate Student: $19.32 per hour (plus 4% vacation pay)
September 2019 to December 2019, January to April 2020
The Physics Department seeks applications for a student tutorial assistant for the 2019-2020 academic year.
Courses with tutorials include: Physics 1110 and Physics 1120.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tutorial assistant will be:
- Acting as a general resource person for students during the tutorial;
- Assisting the course instructor with evaluating written work, and;
- Other duties as assigned by the course instructor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicants will have successfully completed the course for which they are selected to assist in the tutorial, or have relevant alternative experience.
- Preference will be given to students taking Physics as their major or minor.
- Previous experience as a tutorial assistant is an asset.
- Graduate student applicants should hold a B.Sc. (preference will be given to applicants with a Physics major) and have experience in instructing introductory science labs.
