The Department of Biomedical Sciences is seeking applications for a temporary part time student research assistant position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position is required to work under the direction of Dr. Sunny Hartwig to help develop a canine genetics and behavior research program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be currently enrolled in the DVM program at AVC
• Must demonstrate excellence in interpreting and translating scientific literature, and must have demonstrated expertise in using scientific search engines (E.g. Pubmed)
• Prior training and demonstrated expertise in canine behavior is a requirement and must be formally documented
• Other qualifications include strong academic record, a very strong work ethic, very strong focus, and independence
• Strong references demonstrating these skills are required
• Must possess a professional demeanour and demonstrate excellent communication skills

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
