The Office of Academic & Student Affairs is seeking an energetic and motivated person to join its team. The ASA Office manages a comprehensive range of functions relating to the undergraduate DVM program involving support, service, and training for AVC students, faculty and staff. The work environment is high-traffic and fast-paced with frequently changing demands.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs, the successful candidate will:
• Maintain all aspects of the DVM curriculum management system including student opinion of teaching surveys, student performance evaluations, clinical rotation schedule optimization, curriculum mapping, graduate and employer surveys, and liaising with the system provider
• Provide administrative support for DVM curriculum review including scheduling, coordinating and documenting meetings with individuals and groups of faculty members
• Liaise with other departments and operating units across campus including ITSS, the Registrar’s Office, and Student Affairs to resolve day-to-day administrative and operational issues
• Prepare professional correspondence, retrieve information from existing databases, generate and format reports,  and develop surveys and fillable forms
• Assist in all day-to-day operative matters and trouble-shooting in the Office of Academic and Student Affairs
• Perform other projects and duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
• Grade 12 graduation and successful completion of a post-secondary program from a recognized educational institution in a related office studies program with three years related experience; an equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered
• Work experience in a University environment will be considered an asset 
• Demonstrated organizational abilities, initiative, attention to detail, and flexibility
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and actively problem-solve
• Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships in a busy, team-oriented environment
• Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality
• Comprehensive knowledge and skills in advanced word processing, electronic information systems and databases, spreadsheet and presentation applications
• Familiarity with University regulations and policies will be considered an asset
