The Veterinary Teaching Hospital requires an Embryo Transfer Assistant to work on a casual basis to assist our theriogenology service. The successful applicant will work directly with the theriogenologists on an as-needed basis (when flushes are scheduled).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under supervision, job responsibilities will include:
• Computer record keeping
• Maintain biosecurity standards in accordance with a CFIA export approval
• Assisting veterinarian with flushing and transferring procedures
• Embryo handling and freezing
• Stock and maintain supplies in various locations
• Other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have 3 plus years of experience working as an embryo transfer assistant or technician or equivalent experience
• Must have a strong willingness to learn and attention to detail
• Excellent computer record keeping skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must be self-motivated
• Must be able to work as part of a team, but must also be able to work independently as required
