Graduate Student Learning Commons Leader
Hours of Work: 

Up to 15 hours a week (lunchtimes, limited evenings, and weekends)

$16.97 (vacation pay included)

Commencing as soon as possible for Fall 2013 and Winter 2014

 The Faculty of Education requires the services of one graduate student to work and provide leadership in the Education Learning Commons (ELC). Preferably, successful candidates will be a graduate student in education. Preference will be given to a candidate who is functional in French and English.
The graduate student leader will work with the Learning Commons Coordinator and provide leadership to student assistants who are responsible for providing circulation services and basic technological assistance to Faculty of Education students, faculty and staff using the ELC, as well as performing other miscellaneous duties as required.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a resource centre, preferably in a postsecondary teacher education setting. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with or able to learn how to use a variety of technology, including photocopiers, printers, Macs, Inspiration, Moodle, Smart Boards, iPads, and Koha. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and self- motivated, with strong oral and written communication skills, good time management skills and a positive attitude.
Priority to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
