The Faculty of Education requires the services of a student to act as research assistant on a research study regarding the attitudes of future teachers toward inclusive practices.
The research assistant will be responsible for collecting questionnaires from students, organizing data, using computer software, coding and analyzing data, writing reports, searching for literature using library searches, and writing for publication. The research assistant will work with the research team and collaborate on data analysis and dissemination. Data will be collected from across the country and analyzed using quantitative and qualitative methods.
The successful candidate should have a background in working with children. Undergraduate courses in psychology and English required. Coursework in history and philosophy also preferred. Strong academic ability is a must. Candidate must have excellent writing and communication skills, experience in interviewing, and data analysis. Ability to use computer programs to analyze and present data. Awareness of cultural, academic and geographic differences is a must. English and French language and writing skills preferred. Ability to work independently and on a team is required. Research computer skills required. Ability to communicate by distance and in-person.
