The Human Resource Department is seeking applications from qualified individuals to provide administrative support to Human Resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This position will provide a wide variety of administrative support to the Human Resource Department, but will specifically focus on the area of Employee Services.
• Duties will include  maintenance and processing employee leave records; conducting orientation sessions; processing and updating Supplementary Health, LTD, Life Claims and WCB applications; pension administration; providing lists and other necessary information to campus and benefits carriers through the use of database query software; assisting employees and the public accordingly; preparing typing and filing correspondence, compiling statistical information, and updating organizational charts; preparing competition files, setting up interviews, closing competitions and preparing letters of offer.
• Assisting with other special projects for the department will also be required from time to time. 
• The successful candidate should have the ability to multitask, have strong computer skills, and deal with confidential matters on a daily basis. 
• The successful candidate will be outgoing, congenial, and should enjoy working with a team of great HR practitioners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12 graduation and completion of a two year post-secondary program in a related office program with at least two years related office experience and/or a combination of education and related work experience. 
• Preference will be given to those who may have worked in an HR office setting, and ideally, have some related experience in benefits administration.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work independently are a must. 
• Experience and use of Windows applications including Microsoft Office, Visio and database query software.
•  Familiarity with a university environment, academic regulations and procedures and experience with a HERA System would be an asset.
