The University of Prince Edward Island is seeking a Student Assistant to help provide accounting and clerical support for Procurement and Payment Services within the Finance Division.  Under the supervision of the Manager, Procurement and Payment Services, the student will work on a combination of day to day assignments and build valuable skills such as problem solving, communications, organization, and operational efficiency.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working with computerized financial information systems, data entry
• Assisting in preparation of journal entries
• Assisting in template development and document tracking
• Organizing, filing and scanning claims, tax forms, invoices, etc.
• Conducting inventory and asset tagging
• Opening, sorting and delivery of mail
• Other related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong computer skills in word processing, computer software and spreadsheet programs
• Strong organization, interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and previous office experience would be an asset.

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
