A Student Research Assistant is needed to work on a research project about the perceptions of quality-of-life of Chinese immigrants to three cities in Canada. The Student Research Assistant will be supervised by Dr. Jim Randall, Master of Arts,  Island Studies

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Student Research Assistant will:
• analyse focus group transcripts using standard qualitative techniques,
• write up a thematic analysis of the focus group interviews

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The successful candidate will be a senior undergraduate  or have a degree in a Social Sciences discipline and will ideally have training and experience in Social Sciences and/or Island Studies.
• Strong organizational, communication, writing and computer skills are required.
• Training and experience in qualitative research analysis is required.
• Acceptance and/or registration in the Master of Arts, Island Studies program is an asset.
