The Department of Biology at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a Sessional Instructor during the forthcoming Winter 2017 semester to teach the following course, subject to final budgetary approval.  Individuals qualified to teach the following courses are encouraged to apply:

Para 401 – Health Promotion, Planning & Evaluation (classes: Tuesdays, 2:30-5:30 pm).
This course discusses the concepts of health and illness with an emphasis on understanding the origins, factors and conditions that determine health throughout the lifespan. Students are introduced to the practice of critical evaluation of systems used in health promotion and planning through reading published, literature, writing and class discussions.
PREREQUISITE Registration in the B.Sc. Paramedicine program

Qualifications:  Applicants should be the equivalent of an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) with a Bachelors or Graduate degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in a field related to the course content.  Experience teaching a similar course at the post-secondary level is a definite asset.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster, and to those with experience in teaching university level courses.
