The University of Prince Edward Island Robertson Library is looking to fill a 4-month full time term position of Library Technician, University Archives and Special Collections.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the University Archivist and Special Collections Librarian, the successful applicant will be responsible for:
• Working with the University Archivist and Special Collections Librarian and other members of the Library team in the acquisition, processing, digitization, and indexing of archival and special collections material, and working with research personnel and clients on industry-related projects.
• Helping the University Archivist and Special Collections Librarian and other members of the Library team respond to information and reference questions from the Library’s user community.
• Covering shifts on the Library’s Information and Circulation Desks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Community college library technician diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Undergraduate degree or an equivalent.
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated creative, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task, coordinate projects and function professionally in an academic environment.
• Strong computer skills.
