Hours of Work: 

10-15 hours per week (variable) to a maximum of 150 hours per semester. Must be available Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

Salary: 
$20.59 per hour (vacation pay included), as per CUPE 1870
Term: 

September 2015 to December 2015 (Term may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding and departmental requirements.)

The University of Prince Edward Island is looking to fill a part-time term position of MTS Level 4 – Physiological Assessment & Training Laboratory Assistant in the Applied Human Sciences Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Setting up and maintaining laboratory equipment.
• Leading Physiological Assessment & Training Laboratories and assisting students with laboratory material. 
• Supporting students in writing laboratory reports.
• Assisting the course instructor evaluating written work.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• B.Sc. in Kinesiology, successfully passed Kinesiology 343 or the equivalent course at another institution.
• Proficiency measuring waist circumference, blood pressure, musculoskeletal fitness, and safely overseeing submaximal fitness tests.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Previous teaching experience is considered an asset.
• CPT/CEP certification and experience as a personal trainer are considered assets.
