Applications are invited from full-time returning biology students interested in working in the Biology Department assisting staff in organizing museum and teaching collections and participating in summer research activities. Please note that this position is supported through the Canada Summer Jobs Program therefore applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age.
The student will assist staff in organizing and updating instructional materials for the teaching laboratories. The student may also be involved in digitizing herbarium specimens , inventorying department equipment and supplies. They will also assist in organizing the recently renovated teaching labs, museum and field storage facility.
Applicants must be full-time(and returning) biology students having completed their 2nd year . Experience working in a lab setting would be an asset. They should be able to work with a minimum of direction and supervision. Must be WHMIS trained or be willing to complete the online course.
Priority to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
