The Faculty of Business requires an Administrative Assistant to provide a wide variety of administrative and clerical support services to the various components of the Executive Education and Professional Development portfolio in the Faculty of Business. This person will work closely with the Manager in supporting and coordinating the respective courses and in administrating and monitoring budgets. The successful candidate must have basic accounting skills and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the administration and monitoring of the budget
• Communicating with the Accounting Office, the Office of the Comptroller and the Advisory Committee
• In association with the Manager, devising and organizing various short course series
• Support for the coordination of course series and workshops, including scheduling, promotion, registration, material preparation, booking AV equipment and rooms, room set up, catering, attendance monitoring, and certificate preparation
• Administering course evaluations of instructors
• Performing registration and data entry as necessary
• Updating website and online course calendar
• Prepare and post material in support of the Office’s social media profile
• Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12 graduation plus completion of a recognized post-secondary program in a related area is required plus relevant work experience
• Familiarity working in an office environment and have some accounting background
• Strong computer, organizational, and administrative skills with a keen eye for detail
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
• Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal abilities
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications is required
• Experience with Gmail and Moodle is considered an asset
• Experience with social media platforms (eg. Facebook, LinkedIn) would also be an asset
