$45,457 - $50,007 per annum, prorated to term as per CUPE 1870 (salary under review)

The Atlantic Veterinary College requires an Animal Health Technician to act as a liaison between the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) and IT Systems and Services (ITSS) in the development and completion of a new electronic medical records (EMR) system for the VTH in addition to being available to support the work of the VTH as an animal health technician when needed. RESPONSIBILITIES: • working as a liaison between the VTH and ITSS for matters pertaining to the EMR system • developing an EMR training program for VTH users • being responsible for ongoing training for VTH users • providing first line support for EMR use in the VTH • assisting doctors, students, and other staff with the care of patients in the VTH • maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the VTH • other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: • A graduate of a recognized AHT program (Registered Veterinary Technician is preferred) • A 4-year degree in business or integrative technology would be seen as a benefit • 2 years of clinical experience in a veterinary setting as an AHT • Excellent interpersonal, communication, computer skills • Ability to problem solve, develop documentation, and work as a part of a team
