The Financial Services Office is seeking applications for an Assistant Manager of Procurement and Payment Services. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Services, the Assistant Manager, Procurement and Payment Services will be responsible for oversight of the daily operations of Shipping and Receiving, Mailroom and the Procurement and Accounts Payables functions of the University.     

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee and support the daily procurement and payment process that are key to the University’s operations
• Facilitate and execute process changes related to a new campus business system
• Key individual responsible for acquisition of and payment for goods & services for the Campus community
• Oversight of compliance with the Procurement and other related policies
• Facilitate tendering processes
• Responsible for compliance with regulatory requirements including customs and CRA rules and regulations
• Ensure accurate and timely payment of university suppliers
• Provide oversight of internal controls and standard accounting practices
• Supervise several staff

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Undergraduate degree - preferably with a Business and/or Accounting focus
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory and accounting experience, preferably in a university or similar setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Detailed knowledge of and experience in working with computerized accounting systems, spreadsheets and database software
• Understanding of change management processes
• Strong analytical and decision making skills
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
