Transition Program Student Mentors (2 positions)
Hours of Work: 

up to 10 hours per week for academic year.

$10.76 per hour (vacation pay included).

September 2015 – April 30, 2016

UPEI Enrolment Services requires student mentors to work with the Coordinator of the Transition Program (TP).  The academic student mentors will provide support for students who are enrolled in the Transition Program (TP).


The successful candidate will be part of a team of individuals who provide:
• Academic mentoring to first year students.
• Support to students making the transition to university.
• Progress Reports to TP Coordinator.
• Scheduling of weekly meetings with students.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings.


• Motivated and successful 3rd or 4th year student or exceptional 2nd year student.
• Excellent organization, time management and study skills.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Student centered, dependable and reliable.
• Strong computer and Moodle skills.
• Experience working with students and support services will be considered an asset. 
• Successful applicants must be able to attend a half day training session on September 19th, 8:30 -4 pm.
