 Reporting to the Director of Student Affairs and Webster Academic Services, the receptionist will oversee and manage all daily front desk activities. The position will provide receptionist support to members of the Student Life and Webster Academic Services team. The receptionist will be student centered and provide duties at a high quality level.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will:
• Respond to telephone, e-mail and in-person inquiries regarding the Department of Student Affairs and the services that it provides.
• Re- direct calls where appropriate and take messages when required
• Greet, welcome and direct students, guests and visitors to the appropriate staff member in the Department
• Photocopy, file and process incoming and outgoing mail and faxes on daily basis, including distribution.
• Maintain Student Affairs information bulletin boards, and display cases
• Pick up and deliver mail
• Open and date stamp all general correspondence
• Assist staff with the organization of rooms for meetings and special events
• Maintain file cabinets and archive old documents, as appropriate
• Schedule student appointments; direct students to resources and information within Student Affairs and on campus, where appropriate.
• Provide website maintenance
• Maintain tidy front desk/work place environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Administrative Assistant program
• The successful candidate will have minimum grade 12 education.
• Computer proficiency in a windows environment
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a busy team oriented environment
• Evidence of commitment to offering high quality front desk service
• Understanding of social media technology
• Comfort and experience working in a front line receptionist position.
• Flexible and able to manage multiple tasks
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
• Ideally, 1-year of receptionist experience
