A sessional instructor is required to teach a three credit-hour course in Journalism during the Winter 2017 session.

JOUR 101 - “Introduction to Journalism and Media Studies"

This course introduces students to the key concepts in journalism and media studies. The economics, social, political, and cultural contexts of modern media will be examined and analyzed. It will also consider the relationship between power, information and reporting using the experiential learning model.
The successful applicant should have a background in journalism and media studies obtained through an advanced degree in a relevant discipline or an area of study, preferably in journalism or media studies, or though applicable professional experience. A publishing, research, outreach, and teaching background in the subject area would be an asset and would be preferred.
