Approximately 10 hours per week throughout the Fall/Winter semesters. Shifts will range from 3 to 6 hours and will include weekends and evenings. Hours may fluctuate with Library requirements.

 The Robertson Library requests resumes, with a cover letter, that speak to the responsibilities and qualifications in this job posting for student positions for the 2013-2014 academic year. This competition will also be used to create a list for possible future openings. The list will remain in effect until September 30, 2014. Students hired may be renewed for subsequent terms, based on job performance, and employment eligibility. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to assist library patrons in the use of hardware and software technology and services in the Library including printing, Microsoft Office applications, wireless connectivity, campus-supported web services such as Moodle and GMail, multimedia equipment, and document and microform scanners/readers, to participate in the basic maintenance of these products and services, to assist library staff with digital projects as assigned, and other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Computing and multimedia technology experience and strong familiarity with the computing software and systems used on the UPEI Campus. Demonstrates: punctuality; ability to take direction; ability to perform repetitive work while retaining careful attention to detail; ability to work as part of a team; strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; physical ability to handle heavy library materials, book carts, computer equipment, etc.; open and willing attitude; and initiative. Experience working in an academic library or related public service experience would be an asset.
