STUDENT ASSISTANT – ANIMAL NUTRITION LABORATORY
Hours of Work: 

37.5 hours per week (Irregular hours may occasionally lead to variable work weeks)

Salary: 
$10.74 per hour (vacation pay included)

May 14, 2012 to August 10, 2012

A student is required to work in the Animal Nutrition Laboratory, Department of Health Management, Atlantic Veterinary College for 12 to 15 weeks this summer. Employment will commence in early May.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To assist faculty and staff with research into the effect of holding time on the chemical composition and condition score of glass eels. In addition, the student will assist in nutritional analysis of green crab as a possible source of nutrients for animal and fish feeds. The student will collect samples, do laboratory analysis, and input data. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures Manual. A background in nutrition or biochemistry, and experience in laboratory techniques are essential. Computer skills and a knowledge of aquatic animal science are assets. A valid driver's licence is required.
