 The Veterinary Public Health Laboratory at the University of Prince Edward Island is looking to create a list of Field Workers for casual employment for January 2014 – December 2015. RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful applicants will assist in carrying out the collection of retail samples from grocery stores, butcher shops, and independent markets in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. These positions will involve ground travel within the Canadian Maritimes with irregular hours, long days, and over night trips. The successful applicants will also be responsible for data collection at each saMpling store using a personal digital assistant and minimal paperwork. QUALIFICATIONS: • High school graduate. • A valid driver’s license with a good driving record. • The ability to work independently as a member of a team is required. • Other skills required include the capability to do repetitive work, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly. • The work can be mentally demanding, involving driving long distances. • Familiarity with the roadways and highways of the Maritimes region is an asset. • Proficient English communication skills required.
