The Faculty of Business at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a sessional lecturer to teach the following Executive MBA course in the 2017/18 academic year. This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.

BUS 6020 Financial and Managerial Accounting

In this course students learn to become proficient at understanding and interpreting financial statements, assessing them for decision-making purposes and supporting value-creating organizational strategies, operational tactics, and performance measurement schemes.  The course employs international standards and addresses how accounting is used in decision-making. Tools for learning include guest speakers, case studies, and projects.

Qualifications:

As this is an Executive MBA course, we seek applicants with a strong combination of qualifications and experience.  Minimum educational credentials include a Masters level degree or equivalent.  In addition, applicants should have advanced expertise in the course topic such as a professional accounting designation combined with extensive full-time experience in accounting at a senior level. A knowledge and familiarity with “Evidence based Management” principles will be an advantage. 

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster in the academic unit.
