$12.95 per hour (vacation pay included)

The Department of Biomedical Sciences invites applications from UPEI undergraduate students for up to 3 grant-funded summer research assistant positions in Behavioural Neuroscience. 


• Each position will contribute to a separate research project investigating aspects of central nervous system function in laboratory rodents, and will combine detailed behavioural testing with morphological and molecular analyses
• The project domains include Environmental Toxicology, Psychopharmacology and Neurodegenerative Disease


• Applicants should be returning to full-time study at UPEI in the Fall of 2017 and be of high academic standing in relevant coursework that includes upper-level courses in both Neuroscience and cellular Biology
• Applicants should also possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work  both independently and as part of a research team that includes faculty, technical staff and graduate students
• Prior experience in fundamental research is not required but preference will be given to BSc or DVM applicants who intend to pursue research in either Biology or Psychology and/or graduate study in Neuroscience

Priority is given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
