Hours of Work: 

37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday 7:30am – 3:30pm)

$50,347.00 to $55,378.00 per annum, prorated to time and term as per CUPE 1870

The Veterinary Teaching Hospital requires an Animal Health Technician to provide technical support for patients in Small Animal/Large Animal Anesthesia. 


Under supervision, job responsibilities will include:
• Provide clinical and technical support to faculty in anesthesia
• Prepare patient for induction of anesthesia
• Induce and maintain anaesthesia
• Recover patient
• Equipment cleaning and maintenance
• Ordering and stocking of supplies
• May involve some evening and weekend work
• May involve work in other areas of the hospital on occasion as required
• Other duties as required


• Must be a graduate of an Animal Health Technician program from a recognized facility
• RVT designation is preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in both small and large animal surgical anesthesia would be preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be self-motivated, have a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn
• Must be able to work well as part of a team, but must be able to work independently as required
• Must be able to work flexible hours on occasion, and be reliable
