The Department of Student Affairs is seeking a student assistant to help in the development and implementation of programs initiated through Counselling Services.  The successful candidate must possess excellent verbal and written skills, strong computer skills, ability to work independently as well as part of a team and sensitive to the confidential nature of the work involved.  The student coordinator will responsible for creating and developing intentional programming to promote a diverse, healthy, and vibrant community at UPEI. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Help with the logistics of launching programs like Bringing In The Bystander and other programs. 
• Coordinate details of sessions lead by the Counselling team, such as room bookings, food orders, marketing of programs being offered
• Communicate with various departments on campus to coordinate the scheduling of sessions
• Develop feedback surveys
• Develop stronger working relationships with Community Agencies
• Update mental health resources in the lobby area of Student Affairs and online
• Develop a Counselling Services pamphlet

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Self motivated, independent, and creative student in 2nd yr or higher
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Academically in "good standing" (according to Academic Regulation 17), strong academics an asset
• Ability to work in a confidential environment
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Work well in a team environment
• Show initiative and work with minimal supervision
• Student centered, dependable, and reliable
• Knowledge of UPEI campus and services
