Student Research Assistant (Up to 2 positions) - School of Sustainable Design Engineering - Faculty of Science
June 1 – August 31, 2018
The School of Sustainable Design Engineering is seeking applications for temporary student research assistant positions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- These positions are required to work in lab and possibly field environments under the direction of Dr. Andrew Swingler, Associate Professor, to operate laboratory test infrastructure for the purposes of evaluating energy storage system performance – mainly for solar power applications
- The incumbents are required to assist with the operation of battery charge cycling equipment. This will include designing research apparatus as well as running experiments and collecting data
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The student must have solid computer skills, a working knowledge of electric circuits and componentry
- Hands-on skills and experience with micro-controllers and data manipulation are essential
- Must have a good academic record and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work in a team and independently, and willingness to work in lab and field environments
Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
