Hours of Work: 

80 hours in total for term, per student (some evening and weekend hours are required)

$10.40 per hour (vacation pay included)

The L. M. Montgomery Institute has two (2) short-term, part-time student positions available for the 11th Biennial International L. M. Montgomery conference, L. M. Montgomery and War.


Successful candidates will assist the Conference Co-ordinator in conference planning, organization, and implementation, including engaging with participants, vendors, and volunteers, assisting with publicity and social media, helping with event planning and implementation, and other related duties as required.


• Candidate must be available to work week of June 25-29, 2014.
• Candidates must be available throughout the conference weekend, June 25th to 29th.
• Previous conference experience would be an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills;
• experience with social media, web site software, and Microsoft Office;
• strong organizational skills;
• a sound knowledge of and enthusiasm for L. M. Montgomery’s works.
• Demonstrates: punctuality; ability to take direction; ability to work as part of a team; open and willing attitude; and initiative.

Priority to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
