The Financial Services Office is looking to hire a Student Assistant. This position will require a student who is highly organized with excellent analytical, communication, and technological skills.


Assisting staff with various accounting and clerical responsibilities within the areas of Accounts Receivable, Research Accounting, Data Control, and Budget and Financial Reporting, including:
• Preparing invoices and reviewing accounts for Accounts Receivable
• Assisting Research Accounting with claim preparation
• Processing journal entries
• Completing data entry and data validation
• Assisting with filing, data storage, and coin rolling
• Providing back-up support for the front counter
• Assisting with various tasks related to the implementation of our new financial system
• Other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor(s) and Manager


We are seeking an individual with a minimum of Grade 12 graduation and successful completion of at least 1 year of a post-secondary accounting program.  Other qualifications include:
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
