$36 per hour, vacation pay included.

September to December 2015.  EAP follows the same schedule as academic programs.

The UPEI English Academic Preparation Program is looking for qualified individuals for substitute work, and should numbers warrant, to teach part-time during the 2015/2016 academic year.  EAP is a non-credit program to assist students who speak English as an additional language reach the English proficiency required for university admission. 


• Teaching ESL and academic English from high beginner to advanced proficiency level.
• Formative and summative evaluation.
• Curriculum development & lesson planning.
• Curriculum evaluation and revision.
• Participation in staff meetings.
• Holding office hours to provide student assistance.
• Participation in some extra-curricular events.
• Facilitation of some special events and/or workshops.
• Upholding the policies and regulations of the EAP program.
• Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Coordinators.


• Bachelor of Education with ESL teaching experience, or adult ESL teaching experience in combination with a relevant degree.
• Excellent English proficiency (oral and written).
• Flexibility to work late afternoon or evenings.


• Master of Education, or a Master’s degree in a related field.
• ESL teaching certificate & teaching experience.
