$36, 408 per annum. Private apartment is provided as a taxable employment benefit.

Up to two (2) years renewable pending favourable performance review by the end of the first year.

Residence Services at UPEI is committed to a strong residence life program, and to fulfilling the mission of building a safe and supportive living and learning environment that facilitates academic success, social interaction and personal growth. Our residences consist of approximately 450 students, living in three separate and distinct residence halls.
We are currently seeking a Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) to help us fulfill our mission and to assist with reinvigorating our residence life program. Reporting to the Manager of Residence Services, the RLC will play a critical and diverse role in the entire residence experience, from assisting with recruitment and admissions to maximizing student satisfaction and retention.
Selecting, training and supervising approximately 15 Residence Life Advisors. Responsible for student leadership & development, and for designing, implementing and assessing residence programs that enhance the overall campus living and learning environment. Upholding community standards and policy enforcement. Acting as first responder to issues related to student conduct, crisis intervention and emergency situations, participates in on-call rotation and providing support to paraprofessional staff. Assisting with and leading the admissions process, including applications, room assignments, assisting with marketing/sales, and liaising with other key units on campus (such as Registrar's Office, Accounting, Student Services, etc.) Updating the on-line Residence Handbook and related materials, ensuring that residence policies and procedures remain current and properly communicating these to all appropriate groups.
The Residence Life Coordinator is required to live in residence and will be assigned to a private apartment in Blanchard Hall. Due to the nature of the position, irregular working hours should be expected, along with some restrictions on vacation periods, outside employment and other extra-curricular activities.
Undergraduate degree (preferably in Education or a related discipline). Proven understanding of and commitment to the residence life experience and the living and learning mission. Solid background and experience working in a residence environment, able to demonstrate progressive residence life programming and leadership. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrated decision making skills and sound judgment, along with strong conflict management and crisis management skills. Proven ability to lead a highly effective team, demonstrate initiative and contribute to overall success of residence operation. Good working knowledge of computers and commonly used programs.
