37.5 hours per week (Hours will not necessarily be regular and some weekend work may be involved.)

Dr. Marina Silva (Department of Biology) is looking for one student to help carry out a research project on the effects of anthropogenic activities on red foxes in Prince Edward Island National Park, subject to budgetary approval.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
     
• The student will participate in field- and lab-work activities related to a project designed to examine the effects of anthropogenic activities such as fox-feeding on the movement, habitat selection and habitat use of red foxes in Prince Edward Island National Park. 
• Lab work will involve data entry, literature search, writing reports/papers and other related duties. 
• In the field, students will help to collect animal data and survey habitats and vegetation, as well as developing a photographic database of human-fox interactions using wildlife trail cameras. 
• Applicants must also be able to work independently in both field- and laboratory-based environments.

QUALIFICATIONS:     

• The successful candidates would have completed General Ecology (Bio-222) and Wildlife Health (Bio-415). 
• A preference will be given to a student who has completed the courses above and who has already been vaccinated against rabies.
