37.5 hours per week

$11.51 per hour (vacation pay included)

June 15, 2014 to August 22, 2014

Dr. Pedro Quijon (Biology Department) is seeking to hire a summer student to help with research projects in PEI shoreline systems (sandy beaches and estuaries, as required).


• The student will assist with several field projects related to invasive species, marine invertebrates, and coastal habitats in general.
• The student needs to be comfortable with extensive field and laboratory work in different areas of the island, sometimes at odd hours (based on tides, weather, etc). 

• Students who completed marine biology (Bio 391) are preferred
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work on western PEI shorelines
• Strong digital literacy skills
• A valid driver's license is required.

Priority to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
