The Department of Religious Studies at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for a sessional instructor to teach the following course in the Fall semester of 2016. This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.

Religious Studies 288 (Special Topics: Islam and Christianity in Dialogue)
This course is an introduction to the major themes that arise in dialogue between the world's two largest religions - Christianity and Islam. Through the consideration of sacred, foundational and modern texts, it explores concepts such as revelation, prophesy, heresy, and God in historical and religious context.

The current time slot is Thursday evenings from 7:00-10:00

The successful candidate must have a PhD in Religious Studies or a related discipline with a scholarly emphasis on Islam and Christianity. Some knowledge of Arabic is required.

Members of the Sessional Roster of the academic unit will be given priority.
